Upcoming Presentations

2012

  • March 1:   South Hills School of Bus. & Tech..

  • May 3: Zach Prieskorn - Magnetars are some of the most extreme objects in nature. They contain more material than our sun but it is compressed into the size of a city. They also have the strongest magnetic fields in the Universe and are the source of the brightest X-ray and gamma-ray flares observed. I will present a brief history of magnetar observations, what we currently understand about these objects and what future magentar observations can reveal about matter in extreme conditions.   South Hills School of Bus. & Tech..
